Description

A comforting and creamy green bean casserole, perfect for holidays or any cozy meal. This dish combines tender green beans with a rich, savory sauce and a crispy, golden topping for the ultimate side dish everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen green beans, trimmed and cut
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional, for extra depth)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups crispy fried onions, divided
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for added flavor)

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep – Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using fresh green beans, blanch them in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, then drain. If using frozen, thaw and drain.
  • Mix the Base – In a large bowl, combine the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir until well blended.
  • Assemble the Casserole – Fold in the green beans and 1 cup of crispy fried onions. Mix well and transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Bake & Top – Bake uncovered for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven, stir, and sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of crispy fried onions evenly on top.
  • Final Bake – Return to the oven and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the topping is golden and crispy.
  • Serve & Enjoy – Let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the creamy, crunchy goodness!

Notes

Fresh vs. Canned Green Beans: Fresh green beans give a crisp texture, while canned ones provide a softer bite. Choose based on your preference!
Customize the Flavor: For a richer taste, stir in a handful of shredded cheddar cheese before baking.
