Description

This icy, tangy, and sweet frozen lemonade is the ultimate summer refresher! Made with real lemons, a touch of sweetness, and blended to perfection, this frosty treat is perfect for hot days and backyard gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (120 ml) fresh lemon juice (about 34 lemons)
  • ⅓ cup (80 ml) simple syrup (see notes for alternative)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) cold water
  • 2½ cups (350 g) ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Optional: Fresh mint leaves or lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Lemon Base:

  • Squeeze fresh lemons until you have ½ cup of juice.
  • If making your own simple syrup, heat ⅓ cup sugar and ⅓ cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until fully dissolved. Let it cool.

Blend to Perfection:

  • In a high-powered blender, combine the lemon juice, simple syrup, cold water, ice cubes, and lemon zest.
  • Blend on high speed for 30–45 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and slushy.

Adjust & Serve:

  • Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more simple syrup.
  • Pour into glasses, garnish with fresh mint or lemon slices, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Simple Syrup Alternative: If you prefer a natural sweetener, substitute honey, agave syrup, or maple syrup instead of simple syrup. Adjust the amount based on your taste preference.
  • Stronger Lemon Flavor: For an extra zesty kick, freeze lemon juice into ice cubes before blending. This intensifies the lemon taste without watering down the drink.
  • Make it Creamy: Swap cold water with coconut milk, almond milk, or vanilla yogurt for a rich and creamy version.
  • Add a Fruity Twist: Blend in strawberries, raspberries, or mango chunks for a naturally sweet and colorful variation.
